Conservation And Preservation
Are Being Ignored
The management of all four cities
are ignoring what makes this area unique and beautiful. Do they not care
what sort of life they may be robbing from your children
and grandchildren? Stripping land, disturbing habitats,
destroying neighborhoods and wasting precious water seem
to be their goals.
San Antonio only uses 140 gallons per capita per day. Austin
uses 185 gallons. Cedar Park pours Lake Travis on
its heavily planted medians and golf courses. Why
can’t Austin, Cedar Park, Leander and Round Rock
match San Antonio in water conservation? LCRA
is making it too easy to drain Lake Travis by selling cheap
water.
Since Lance Armstrong trained in the
hills of Volente and the curves of Lime Creek Road, cyclists
and bikers have called the area their training ground. Cedar Park, Leander
and Round Rock will destroy this area. Their huge land
clearing trench for their enormous pipeline will remove trees
and destroy vegetation leaving a dirty dust bowl where no
one wants to breathe. They could tunnel, leaving the
scenery in place, but that costs money. Cheap is better?
