During Times Of Peak Water Usage
The Level Of Lake Travis Will Fluctuate Wildly
When is your water bill the highest? When
is your electric bill the highest? When are our lakes
used the most? Peak water usage in the summer will
cause Lake Travis to go down rapidly. This equals
summers of low, low lake levels.
Lake Travis fell an average of .80
feet per week last summer. The
usage then was 143,600 AFY. With the LCRA sales of
491,000 AFY, Lake Travis could fall almost 3 ½ feet
per week in a repeat of that drought. Marina owners
could not operate with that much weekly drop. Floating
restaurants would be dry-docked.
